Ohio Republican Party Commemorates Sacrifices of America’s Fallen Heroes
COLUMBUS – The Ohio Republican Party issued the following statement in recognition of Memorial Day:
“Americans enjoy the blessings of liberty only through the sacrifices of those who unwaveringly serve and defend our country in uniform at home and abroad. On this Memorial Day, and every day, our enduring honor and deepest sympathy is reserved for the families of our nation’s heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country,” said Chairman-elect Matt Borges.
The Ohio Republican Party Veterans Coalition also extended their gratitude on Memorial Day to our fallen military heroes and their families. State Senator Frank LaRose leads the Ohio Republican Party Veterans Coalition and is a decorated veteran of the United States Army.
“On Memorial Day a grateful nation pauses to remember those servicemen and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for freedom. They have our eternal respect, honor and remembrance. On behalf of the Ohio Republican Party Veterans Coalition, we extend our enduring gratitude to the families and loved ones of these heroes,” said Senator LaRose.
Also in commemoration of Memorial Day, Governor John Kasich honored Ohio’s fallen soldiers during a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the Ohio Statehouse on May 21. The observance was a moving tribute to the lives of 12 Ohio soldiers who lost their lives in active military service since 2012.
